Yankee Screwdriver: This multi-body part is a functional piece of history originally invented in the late 1800s in New England. It is a yankee screwdriver, also called a “push screwdriver” or a spiral screwdriver. It does include many of the internal parts that make up this tool. It is two examples of indent feature. There are several examples of the “delete face” command using the “delete and fill” option. The part has other features including: helical curves, helical cuts, revolves, move/copy body, mirror, and circular patterns. There is one example of the new circular sweep function in SOLIDWORKS 2016 used to create a helical spring. Download this file to learn more about this historical tool and the features used to create it.
